Chinese Government Scholarship(A) – Bilateral Program


I .Coverage of the scholarship

1.Tuition waived;

2.Free accommodation on campus;

3.Stipend: Undergraduates ¥2500/Mon, Master and General scholars ¥3000/Mon, Doctor and Senior scholars ¥3500/Mon;

4. Comprehensive Medical Insurance.

II.Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.

2. Education background requirement:

- Applicants for Bachelor Degree programs must have high school degree. (between the ages of 18-25 years of age)

- Applicants for Master’s Degree programs must have bachelor’s degree(applicants must be under the age of 35).

- Applicants for Doctoral Degree programs must have master’s degree(applicants must be under the age of 40).

- General scholars must have high school degree. (applicants must be under the age of 45).

- Senior scholars must be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) .(applicants must be under the age of  50)

3.Applicants should not be beneficiaries of any other scholarships.

4.Applicants who apply for courses taught in Chinese must have a good command of Chinese language. Applicants for Bachelor Degree must have a level 3 HSK certificate or above; applicants for Master Degree and Doctoral Degree must have a level 4 HSK certificate or above.

Note:Duration of the Sch( Bachelor Degree:HSK 5,Master Degree and Doctoral Degree:HSK 5)for professional learning , they are required to take one-year remedial Chinese language courses and pass the relevant test prior to the studies in their specialties.

 

III. Application Process

1.Apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of your home country for CGS opportunity;

2.Apply for the Pre-admission Letter:The applicants submit the application materials (refer to section V below) to log-on to the China Academy of Art, International College 

website (https://caa.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx). China Academy of Art will review the application documents, the passed applicants will recieve the pre-admission letter.(Generally in the form of scanned document sent to the applicants’ emails).Register and submit your online application at the CSC Online Application System for International Students,"http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/" (For the institution code, please confirm it with the local institution of Chinese Government Scholarship in your country).  And print a hard copy of a complete Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship. The applicant send all the documents, including the pre-admission letter, to the specific application receiving offices.

3.Complete the online application procedure at CGS Information Management System for International Students (Visit http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or http://www.campuschina.org and click “Application Online” to log in), submit online the completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship, and print a hard copy. You should consult the dispatching authorities for overseas study of your home country for Instructions of CGS Information Management System for International Students and Agency Number;

4.Submit all of your application documents to the dispatching authorities of your home country before the deadline.

5.The final admission list approved by CSC will be sent to China Academy of Art. CAA will send admission letter to the scholarship students in July every year generally.

IV. Application Documents for Pre-Admission

Applicants submit the application materials (refer to section V below) to provide the following documents for pre-admission. Applicants must log-on to the China Academy of Art, International College website (https://caa.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx).  


1.  Undergraduate students & Master students & Doctoral students & General scholars of Art & Senior scholars of Art

(1) first copy of applicant's passport.

(2) One recent ID photo (Photo format: colored 35*53mm ID photo, white background without hat, head takes upno less than 2/3 of photo size, photo size not less than 320*240 pixels, aspect ratio 4:3, size 100-500kb, JPG format.)

(3) Notarized highest diploma. Students should provide certificate of student status. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

(4) Transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

(5) Certificate of No Criminal Record(Chinese or English).

 (6) Study or research plan in CAA: in Chinese or English.

 (7)  Two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, in Chinese or English. (Professors’ contact phone number and email address must be put on the letter)Published academic papers or other academic achievements. (if applicable)

 (8)  Applicants must submit the applicants’ profile and own art works (Applicants must provide for a painting album of design works. Please note title and size for each work). Applicants for art history or art theory must submit a 2000 words paper. For detailed introduction of different majors, please visit this website: https://caa.at0086.cn/site/admission.html.

 (9)  Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form(link). The original should be kept by the applicant. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Please provide a list of chest X-ray pictures and blood test reports.Incomplete records or those without signature of physician or official stamp of hospital, applicant’s photograph with no check mark are NOT acceptable. Please choose appropriate time to take medical examination due to 6-months validity of the medical results.

(10)Scan copy of tuberculosis Examination Report. Applicants must be tested for Tuberculosis in a certified hospital or laboratory. The results are valid for six months.


(11) - Applicants for Chinese-taught programs:Applicants for bachelor degree studies must have passed HSK level 3 and submit scanned copies of their certificates.Applicants for master’s & doctoral degree studies must have passed HSK level 4 and submit scanned copies of their certificates. If the Chinese level does not meet the requirements for admission to the major (HSK5 for undergraduate students, HSK5 for master and doctoral students), the applications must study Chinese language for one year before you go to study major. 

- There are no Chinese language proficiency requirements for the applicants of English-taught programs, but they (except for English native speakers) must have an internet-based TOEFL test score 90 or IELTS test score 6.5 (or above). 

(12)  Photocopy of bank receipt for transferring the 800 yuan RMB application fee (application fee cannot be paid through on-line bank ).

Undergraduate students:Each student may apply or submit application requests in two (2) fields of study.

V.  When and How to Apply

Application Time: early January to early April each year generally. The detailed time please consult the dispatching authorities for scholarship, and pay close attention to website of CSC http://www.campuschina.org

To ensure that applicants have plenty of time for applying, please submit the documents in advance to China Academy of Art online.

Upload all the application documents as an attachment to the online application system of CAA (https://caa.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx). The incomplete application documents will not be processed.

China Academy of Art Only is only responsible for the applicant's professional audit, Who passed the audit will get pre-admission letter. Application documents and application fee will NOT be returned regardless of the result of the application.

 

VI.Notes
1. Scholarship students' affairs are managed according to the relevant regulations of Chinese Government Scholarship. Those who are unable to register on time must get permission from CAA. Those who fail to register without the prior consent of CAA will be considered as voluntarily giving up the scholarship and the scholarship will be automatically terminated. Scholarship students must go through the Annual Review of the Chinese Government Scholarship Status. If students fail in Annual Review, their scholarship will be terminated.
2. Scholarship students are not allowed to change their institutions as well as their academic programs or the duration of study specified in the Admission Notice.
3. For scholarship students who have to suspend their studies due to illness must return to their home country for further treatment and recovery, expenses for the international travel to and from the university will be borne by the students themselves, and their scholarship status will be reserved for one year at most, with the monthly living allowance stopped during the suspension. Scholarships of the students who suspend their studies for reasons other than illness will not be reserved.

5. To ensure receiving your application documents successfully, it is advised not to submit that by international letter during the Academy’s winter vacation (Usually two weeks before and after the Spring Festival in China). It is better to choose email. Application documents must be sent to caaic_doc@126.com  , other questions can be sent to caaic@163.com

6.The International College of China Academy Of Art reserve the right to interpret the scholarship granting procedures and regulations.
