International Students Admission of the Short-term Study Tour Program at CAA, 2025|Theme: Cross-border Exploration of Oriental Aesthetics and Digital Art


China Academy of Art (hereafter referred as CAA), formerly the National Academy of Art established in 1928, is an important comprehensive college with full range of subjects and majors co-funded by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Education and the government of Zhejiang Province. It serves as a recognized “Dual World-Class”institution of national high education, with the discipline of Fine Arts listed in the World-Class Discipline Construction Program. In the national assessment of university disciplines, Fine Arts and Design have consistently received an A+ rating, while Art Theory, Drama and Film Studies have shown steady progress. Among the admission majors, 26 majors, namely Chinese Painting, Calligraphy, Painting, Sculpture, Intermedia Art, Art Theory, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Visual Communication Design, Apparel & Fashion Design, Ceramic Art Design, Animation, Art and Science and Technology, Product Design, Fine Arts, Art Design, Industrial Art, Industrial Design, Photography, Broadcasting and TV Direction, Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Relics, Fiber Art, Digital Media Art, Environmental Design, Pubic Art, Film and TV Photography and Production, have been approved of being built to be the national first-class undergraduate disciplines and specialties. Art Management and Art Design in Filming and Theater have been approved of being built to be the top undergraduate disciplines and specialties across Zhejiang Province. The Academy sticks to the point of building the world’s first-class art academy which embodies  the top-level Chinese culture and art research and education. With its main campus located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, CAA has five campuses, namely Nanshan, Xiangshan, Liangzhu, and Xianghu in Hangzhou, as well as Zhangjiang in Shanghai.


I.Program Introduction

International College and the School of Animation and Games of the China Academy of Art jointly launched a short-term research programme with the theme of "Cross-border Exploration of Oriental Aesthetics and Digital Art". Through on-site exhibitions, creative practices and academic seminars, the programme leads international students to explore the cultural core, artistic expression and technological application behind oriental aesthetics and digital art, and explore the contemporary transformation path of traditional Chinese culture.


II. Enrollment targets

Non-Chinese citizens interested in oriental aesthetics, games, and digital technology. Members must be at least 18 years old and in good physical and mental health.


III. Way of teaching

On-site teaching, bilingual teaching in Chinese and English.

A new class will not be open until 10 or more students are registrated, 30 students in maximum.


IV. Application timeline

The registration period is from now until 15 June 2025, and the course period is from 23 June to 27 June.

VII. Fee 

1. Tuition: 4,000 RMB/person (including courses, materials, and part of the practice venue fee). 

2. Other expenses: accommodation, catering, transportation, and insurance and other fee. (Accommodation in Hangzhou needs to be booked in advance at the end of June.It is recommended to make a plan as soon as possible.)

3. Payment method: complete the payment according to the admission notice.
