山水画课程——笔法研究(以元代黄公望和倪瓒的作品为例)

课程目标

本课程以黄公望《快雪时晴图》和倪瓒《木幽篁图》入手结合黄宾虹先生五笔——对用笔的五个要求,进行中国画用笔的示范与讲解,让学生了解如使用和控制毛笔,如何画出的线;同时通过历代不同的作品,让学生对用笔的丰富性建立起一个基本的认识;在讲解中,对应现实生活,让学生理解如何从自然中读取笔法。通过这期课程,学生将理解为什么骨法用笔在六法中位列第二,为什么说没有笔墨就没有中国画。

 

Course Objectives

This course uses Yuan artists, Huang Gongwang’s “Kuai Xue Shi Qing Tu” and Ni Zan’s “Gu Mu Yo Huang Tu” paintings as models, in combination with modern artist Huang Binhong’s “five standards of strokes”, the five requirements for proper brush use.  Through demonstration and explanation, students will understand how to use and control the brush, draw a “good” stroke, and through study of different works of previous generations, will gain a basic understanding and appreciation for the potential richness of well executed strokes.  In the discussion relating to life observation, students will learn how to read nature to find and create lifelike strokes.  Secondly, in this course, students will learn that unless one understands bone strokes as described in the Six Laws (Liu Fa), one will not fully appreciate the nuances of Chinese painting until one fully comprehends the breadth and complexities of strokes and ink.

PDF is used to clarify the key points and difficulties of learning, to let students better understand the methods and key points of copying in the form of demonstration and step-by-step learning, etc. A set of corresponding PDF instructions are provided for each teaching unit.

临摹示范视频 通过教师示范录播视频,让学生了解临摹中的笔墨基本技法、画法,通过观摩视频达到现场教学的效果。(学生须装备钉钉APP

Short Video Demonstration 

Through the teacher's demonstration video, students will understand the basic techniques of brush and ink drawing through the method of copying, and can achieve the effect of on-site teaching by observing the video. (Students should install the Dingtalk app)

作业点评 教师通过学生的作业了解学生对课程学习的掌握和理解情况,在作业上加以评注,帮助学生提高练习的正确性和学习的效率。作业每周由学生在规定时间内提交高质量作业图片,教师批注后发回。

Homework Review

The teacher uses assignments to assess each student’s progress and understanding of the course and offers comments on the assignments to help each student improve the quality of their practice and efficacy of learning. Progress of one’s work is uploaded each week by students, within the deadline, with high quality pictures of his or her work, which are returned with the teacher's comments.

视频答疑 对于一些难点、疑惑的问题,每周进行一次一对一30分钟视频答疑,答疑时间须与任课教师提前预约,如无预约视作自动放弃。

Video Q&A For difficult and confusing questions

One on one 30-minute video Q&A will be conducted for each student once a week, and the student should make an appointment with the teacher in advance. Without an appointment, student will be considered waiving this opportunity. To clarify the teacher’s critique and provide time to answer questions, one on one 30-minute.

在确认定制课程后,课程开始前,发送课程相关临本的高清图片及局部图片绘画所用材料工具清单。

After registration for the course is confirmed, prior to the start of the course, you will be sent the high-resolution pictures of the works used in the course as well as the list of materials and tools.

感受毛笔及用笔的基本方法(第一周)

Explanation of the method of using the brush (week 1) 

示范用笔的变化,讲解用笔的轻重、缓急、提按,粗细、枯湿是如何控制和实现的。

Explanation and demonstration of stroke techniques, such as heavy and light, quick and slow, thick and thin, dry and wet and so on.

 

黄宾虹五笔标准解析(第二周)

Explanation of the five standards of strokes (week 2)

通过示范和笔记解释黄宾虹先生平、留、圆、重、变的用笔标准

        

Demonstration and practice of the five standards of strokes——“Even keeled” (Ping) “Retain”(Liu)“Round” (Yuan), “Heavy (Being Weighted)” (Zhong),“Change – Variations”Bian.

 

如何从自然中读取笔法(第三周)

Explanation of how to read the strokes from nature (week 3)

通过示范解释如何从自然中读取笔法,如何用笔墨表现自然。

Demonstration and practice of how to read the strokes from nature and describe nature using strokes.

 

成范本作品笔法练习(第四周)

Complete work exercise of strokes (week 4)

根据示范,完成范本中的局部,在过程中,再一次体会用笔的标准。

Explanation of the works though practice to understand the standards again.

 

每周课程时间安排:Weekly schedule of classes.

教师通过钉钉发送本周PDF解析,录播视频及作业要求。学生进行练习。

Monday Teacher sends out PDF instructions, links to recorded videos, and homework requirements via Dingtalk each week. Students practice on their own.

周二周三 学生练习,并通过钉钉提交高清作业照片。教师根据学生提交的作业,了解学生的掌握情况,可能存在的问题。

Tuesday and Wednesday Students practice and submit high-resolution photos of their work via Dingtalk. According to the practice work submitted, the teacher assesses how is the practice is progressing and identifies areas of difficulty. The teacher will provide feedback and suggestions on a timely basis.

周四  教师通过钉钉发回练习点评和问题解惑(作业批注、错点视频解惑),学生根据反馈进行练习学生如遇无法理解掌握的反馈,也可自行拍摄作画的小视频,请老师指点。可预约教师进行一对一视频答疑。

Thursday Teacher sends back comments and suggestions on practice. If the student does not understand the teacher’s feedback, he or she can send a video how he or she is painting to better allow the teacher to identify the problems or the students can book a One on one Q&A appointment.

周五  学生完成本周作业并提交钉钉群,教师点评。可预约教师进行一对一视频答疑。

Friday Students complete assignments and submit finalized work product.  The teacher sends back comments.  Students may book a one on one Q&A appointment on Friday, too.
